Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) therapy, a form of therapeutic ultrasound, has emerged as a groundbreaking modality for accelerating bone fracture healing. Inspired by both the natural world, and incredible advances in radar technology, researchers are rapidly developing devices capable of delivering pulsating sound waves to targeted areas of the body, including bones, muscle tissue, and skin. Numerous studies have already demonstrated LIPUS’s ability to reduce healing time, and promote successful fracture repair. LIPUS therapy has the promise of revolutionizing the use and awareness of sound therapy in medical care.
