My paper is based on my 16-year struggle with bulimia. While current theory states that trauma is held in the body, I have experienced that trauma is EXPRESSED in the body but held in the neural wiring of the traumatic narrative. I healed from my bulimic trauma loop when I recognized it as a behavior that I adopted as a child as a survival tactic. I had to present myself as handicapped and powerless to receive the care and attention I craved from my overwhelmed parents. Binge eating and purging was a self-destructive behavior that was my dysfunctional response that reinforced a trauma loop that was born from seeking love outside myself. How I resolved this and how it interfaces with sound healing is the basis of my paper.
