The roots of the flower of life are ancient and unknown, although the sacred geometrical symbol appears in countless cultures throughout time and around the world. It is one of the oldest sacred symbols known to man. This pattern has been found in nearly every major culture around the world, including the Forbidden City of China, synagogues of Israel (Galilee, Masada), Buddhist temples in India (Golden Temple) and Japan, in Turkey, Assyria, 13th century Italian art, and Spain (la Mezquita).
