Sound healing can have positive effects on people. I wanted to see how sound healing would effect people in early recovery stages from drugs and alcohol. I went to a live-in program that housed people in early recovery. There were six men that were available to receive a treatment on a group level. I gave them all a questionnaire to fill out before and after.

Short Description
Qigong, a Taoist practice, uses six healing sounds for healing. They are also referred to as the “Six Basic Soundless Sounds for Health,” depending on the specific style of practice (of which there are a variety). Chinese Medicine works with a system of correspondences, or the idea that each network and phase influence each other in predictable, observable ways. Each phase is a nature element, also correlating with a season. Each of the six sounds correlate with an organ network, including a yin organ and a yang organ, both influenced by the same healing vibration. Many of the sounds make positively vibrating vowel sounds.

In my research, I have found many exciting articles on music. One of these articles is a Ted Talks video on You Tube by Evelyn Glennie. She is a deaf percussionist, and the subject of her talk is “How to Truly Listen.” She explains that listening to music is more than letting the sound waves hit your eardrums. We need to hear music and sound through our bodies, and to feel the vibration through our hands and every part of the body. It is amazing to watch her play and to hear the beautiful expression and feeling she creates just by listening with her body to feel the vibrations of the sound.

Short Description
Read this paper to find out how important our well being is dependent on the food we nourish our bodies with. Every item of food has it’s own vibration and energy field. Each of us also has our signature vibration and each food we ingest contributes to that vibration. The vibrating, energetically charged particles of food interact to a significant degree electrically within the fluid matrix of our body. These currents ripple through our bodies, creating electrical currents which our enhance or deplete the energy state of our cells. Whenweresonate with the food’s vibrational energy, we benefit from eating it. As a general rule, the farther food is from it’s natural state, the less it’s vibration energy levels.

Nature provides us with many aural cues for elevating our consciousness - in the wind, the ocean, and the song of birds. These signals have always been there and science has proven that higher frequency sounds charge the cerebral cortex, which is a part of the auditory system performing basic and higher functions in hearing in both animals and humans. This author demonstrates how to use sound healing techniques such as tuning forks, bowls, and toning to heal animals.  It is very sweet and touching.
