Storytelling is one of the oldest and most sacred rituals known to human kind. It is the primary way people share wisdom, knowledge, experiences, and spiritual awareness. Stories are at the core center of community. They form the subtle structure of every initiation, ritual process, and verbal expression of our life’s journey. The Oral Tradition is the most ancient practice of what holds us all together.
The use of storytelling goes back to pre-literate societies and ancient cultures, who used it as a means to convey their history and traditions. Many cultures would identify specific individuals to adopt the role of storyteller. The information was passed along via performance before a live audience, and the performer would adapt, change, and embellish the information to meet the needs of the specific audience.

This short paper discusses the use of sound for healing places as compared with sound therapy focused upon healing people. It discusses how human sound therapists and other energy workers might most effectively support Gaia’s well-being and our mutual evolution of consciousness through sound healing. The first section this paper introduces the concepts of geomancy and earth spirit healing, while the second section provides a glimpse into the quantum connection between Gaia and humans. The final part of this paper describes 12 techniques for successful healing of places, most of them using sound and all of them using vibration. My objective for presenting the paper to sound therapists is to expand their healing intention (people healing) to include place healing in concert with nature.

With recent events in my life I decided to research the benefits of sound healing that is given by a mother to her newborn through sounds and vibration. The findings showed the importance of skin to skin contact in a new light. The exploration of this topic showed more than anticipated. Many factors are impacted by the mother's sounds and vibrations, such as brain development. Findings show that the transition of a baby into the world can be eased through familiarity of a mother's heat beat and voice.

Through detailed observation of our universe, some fundamental pattern arise that can be seen on all levels of observation. I am focusing on the Right Whale as it is an endangered species. My goal is to write music for and about the whales to help raise public awareness. Its body is twice as wide as its length, creating a round internal chamber for resonance which presents certain challenges for music making due to the non-melodic, odd timbre sounds the whales make. I describe the whales in terms of their physical vibrations, resonance, timbre and harmonics (as can be heard by the human ear). I do not get into the resonance of the ocean environment itself at this point, only the whale sounds that can be heard on short recordings.
I also present my own personal experience of intuitive listening, toning, connecting to and understanding the right whales. I have intuited stress, sadness and mourning, as they are struggling with survival. I compare my experience with others who have described similar intuitive communication with the natural world. I decided to write my paper on Cymatics. I truly believe that it is in our nature to have this need of proof of that which we cannot see. Cymatics is just that. It proves to us that there is a whole world beyond our realm, that exists even when we cannot see it. I was struck by Nigels Stanfords Cymatics video when I first saw it, at how well he brought these different worlds together, and created such an amazing collaboration of music, art, vibration, and matter. I believe it is also important to understand that it is a part of our history, and discoveries go back throughout time. We have a very promising future with cymatics, and just need to continue the conversations and understand the possibilities we have because of it.
