still firing pain signals to the brain, long after the damage has been done. Through visualization techniques, Moskowitz designed a healing platform for patients to take a front seat in their healing process and "rewire" themselves back to health. It is hard work to rewrite pathways in the brain, since human beings are naturally habit forming individuals. But with good intention, and using drumming as an aid alongside his practices, I am optimistic that chronic pain sufferers could see results. My paper details my research and thoughts on this topic. "Nearly 70% of people experience trauma in their lifetime. Trauma impacts the whole person: physically, emotionally, mentally, energetically. Human response to trauma — as freeze, fight, or flight — is a normal response to an abnormal event. Until it is released, trauma remains a memory that’s stored in the body, replaying memories and emotions, with a tremendous energy attached to it. Trauma survivors have a host of symptoms and struggle to maintain healthy lives and relationships. During trauma, the reptilian brain takes control and shifts the body into reactive mode. It shuts down non-essential body and mind processes and goes into survival mode, which means part of us goes unconscious and leaves. There is even soul loss. The sympathetic nervous system increases stress hormones and prepares the body to fight, freeze, or flee." Sound Healing for Trauma paper

A mantra is “a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that is considered capable of ‘creating transformation.’” •1 The word Mantra is said to mean “that which protects the mind,” or a more literal meaning based on etymology is “an instrument of mind.” •4 In my yoga classes, I like to remind students to be mindful of the mind, for it is the mind that will often take us out of a pose or out of our flow faster than anything else. Therefore a mantra becomes a tool or an instrument to focus and develop our minds, to thus awaken our consciousness to higher octaves so we may play a sweeter song. Sanskrit is an ancient language of Vedic tradition. About the fifth or sixth century BCE a grammarian named Panini carried out a program of regularizing Indic. In effect, he created a dialect of Indic in which the irregularities were eliminated. He formulated nearly four thousand rules concerning grammar and morphology (the formation of words) for this dialect. Thus this dialect of Indic was called the perfected or refined language. That is the meaning of Sanskrit, the perfected language. It became the preferred language for religious and philosophical discourse. sound report

Short Description
This paper is essentially about the geometry of our food, and proposes that consuming these structures via our food may beneficially impact our physical and energetic bodies. The geometric structure of whole foods often reflects our own bio-geometries, consuming foods that do so reinforces and reinvigorates the geometries within our bio-systems that project the hologram of the original blue-print of our bodies. This paper refers to this concept as the bio-geometric diet, and approaches practical applications of it with reference to the relative geometries in orbital patterns of the planets and related symbolism, in accordance to the geometries found in chakra systems, and to the Fibonacci sequence -- the principle of organic growth. This paper explores the subject of vocal improvisation as a method to communicate with source to receive and relay information conducive to healing. Silvia Nakkach, an award winning composer and author of book Free Your Voice, believes “The voice is the gatekeeper. Spirit uses our voice as a vehicle to sing through us”(Nakkach, 2013). She believes the universe is always singing, the melodies are in the air, the plants, the stars and in our bones and by deep listening we are able to receive them. Silvia as well as shamans throughout the ages believe that melodies and sounds given by spirit have the ability to heal and impart insight. Vocal improv divine communication

This paper will be a brief overview to certain types of light therapy, and discuss how and why healing with light can easily be added to anyone’s healthcare routine or healing practice. Since the subject of light therapy is so vast, this paper will concentrate primarily on low level light therapy (LLLT) from LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) which produce minimal to no heat. Lasers can also produce low level light therapy. The difference in LEDs and lasers is the type of light they produce; with LED light waves being incoherent or dispersed, and laser light waves being coherent or focused. When beginning this paper I knew I was starting down a rabbit hole that I would have a hard time being quick and to the point. There are many facets in which I want to keep unraveling and diving deeper, to allow for a more comprehensive look into the world of healing through sacred songs, plants and prayer. Being a ceremonialist, in which I believe every day is a new beginning and that each step I take is a prayer, I have chosen to open the door to a topic that encompasses my walking and waking life. In this paper I will begin to connect the dots between both North American and South American shamanic approaches to plant medicine, sacred songs, and the powerful effect they have on unlocking our infinite potential, by allowing us to start our journey home, in return, healing our minds, body and opening up to our eternal soul. ...

Trance healing is an important part of indigenous cultures around the world. For example, Tarantism in southern Italy during the 16th and 17th century, the Vimbuza Dance in post colonization in northern parts of Mawali, the Spirit possession hospital in Zambia with Ruth Chabala, Shamans practices in Korea and Candomble religion in Brazil. Music and community together creates a resonant field to allow the healing to takes place with singing drumming in a circle. My final paper is on the ideal that an instrument can have an archetypal male or female energy. I have looked at many different resources and thought of a couple different elements of how to approach it to put together my thesis on whether instrument's can be determined to be male, female or androgynous and how that could be applied in a sound healing modality or in creating a type of therapeutic music.
