Studies have shown that fabric has a vibration. Natural fabrics vibrate high and synthetic fabrics vibrate low. Since the inception of the organized military, uniforms have been used and over time the fabric has changed with the times. Could there be a connection between the increase in pts(d) and mental health diagnoses and the uniforms being worn?

A Brief Exploration of Icaros and Shamanic Music takes a look at shamanic sound and song as a means for communion with Source or Creator and to promote healing. In this piece, we explore some of the purposes for which one might use particular songs or sound practices such as drumming and medicine songs and the effects that arise on different levels. Overall, the aim of this paper is to bring us back to the knowledge that to establish a relationship to the natural and spiritual realms around us is a birthright and that the practices of the past are but a blueprint and a beacon for the creative rituals we have the privilege to enact in our own lives.

All throughout my childhood I was plagued with social anxiety that left me paralyzed in a state of extreme introversion. I had a fear of social situations, and my anxiety shot through the roof every time I talked with people, sometimes shaking physically if I had to speak up in a classroom setting. If I were to describe the feeling of this, it would be a ball of tension stuck in my throat, which physically prevented me from verbalizing and enunciating words with ease and clarity.

This paper traces the history of the frame drum and its importance to the spirituality of ancient people. Religion in the Mediterranean cultures of classical times were female deies in the form of Mother Goddesses. The frame drum and its beats were an integral part of the rites and festivals of the ancient world because of the pulse of life it represented. However, war-like tribes began to invade the peaceful goddess cultures in some areas. Then, finally during and after the fall of Rome, early Christian leaders eradicated all forms of the divine feminine and the frame drum and dancing upon which the goddesses relied. Today, as in the past goddess cultures, the frame drum is an important pathway to higher consciousness.

The coral reefs are in trouble. This means ocean life and our lives will be intensely impacted.  With all that can be affected by sound therapy, I became curious about how sound could support regenerating the coral reefs.  I found that sound is being used to regenerate the coral reefs through a process called Acoustic Enrichment.  The process uses underwater soundscapes to attract fish and coral back to the dead reefs.  While they are finding success with this process, I dug deeper to find other questions and implications that pertain to the health of coral reefs- can Acoustic Enrichment help with these implications as well? This paper explains the process of Acoustic Enrichment as a sound therapy to regenerate reefs and explores its limitations and possibilities.

My paper is about how drumming has a positive impact on the immune system. I can't remember where I heard the story, maybe NPR, but someone had overcome their depression simply by drumming. Looking into this further, I learned that the immune system plays a role in major depressive disorder. I shared an overview of a few studies and the immunological markers that were measured to determine the effects of drumming on participants.
